Pope Benedict XVI is taking one step forward with his attempts to grasp technology and will now be tweeting to the world in eight different languages. Starting on December 12th of this year, the Pope will respond to questions about faith and religion with a worldwide audience in a selection of languages.
All tweets from the Pope will now be simultaneously sent out in English, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, German and Arabic. It is also hoped that Chinese will be added to this list in the future.
Shortly after the announcement from the Vatican, Pope Benedict had nearly 250,000 followers on Twitter, all apparently keen to hear his message. The Pope has been tweeting for over a year now in a Vatican attempt to build up the presence of the church on social media platforms.
